As I mentioned last week, I was in a crafting-binge for the last few weeks in preparation for one of my best friend’s bachelorette party. I made welcome bags for all the girls who came that included a personalized drinking cup, personalized sunglasses, and some DIY goodies!
To explain the goodies in the welcome bag, let’s start with my inspiration. We all know the traditional wedding vows go a little something like this…
I, Fitzgerald, take thee, Olivia, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part… and with this ring, I thee wed.
Anyone catch the Scandal reference? Love Fitz & Liv. #ScandalObsession
These vows took a punny turn for the bachelorette welcome bags. (I’m pun-obsessed!) I saw adorable bachelorette hair-ties on Etsy, and the idea grew from there. In more detail, I made four things for the bags….
To Have or To Hold [Your Hair Back]
To start, I took some thick scrapbook paper and cut it into squares.
From there, I cut an uppercase-“I” shape into the paper, with the inner part just wide enough for some hair bands. I bought a bunch of cute wholesale hair-bands in a great deal from Amazon (affiliate link) and put three on each.
I printed out headers and adhered them to the top of the “I” with craft glue.
For Richer or “Pourer” [Pour Yourself a Drink]
Next, I purchased mini-bottles of white wine (the bride’s fave!) at my local store. Using the same sparkly thick paper, I used a tape-bubble to attach the label to the bottle.
In Sickness & In Health [Hangover Kit]
Would you believe The Dollar Tree sells the cutest eye masks!? Knowing we’d be drinking a few glasses of champagne while we were there ;), each girl received an eye mask similar to the below along with a packet of Tylenol (affiliate link) tied up with a cute purple ribbon.
With This Ring, I Thee Wed [Delicious Treat]
Lastly, I was so excited to find Ring Pops from Amazon (affiliate link) – such a fun treat!
How pun are those goodies!? It was cute when it all came together!!
Thanks for reading along! And – don’t forget to pin the below for future reference!
